"Who wants to worry about dependency injecting their own links?" That quote shows a severe lack of understanding of what dependency injection is. I can't think of any correlation between dependency injection and links. In fact, on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_injection, the word "link" is only mentioned because all wikipedia pages have "External Links". The only positive I see coming from Backdrop is maybe future iterations of Drupal won't have to be dumbed down for the "hackers".
Formatting options
Basic
To post pieces of code, surround them with <code>...</code> tags. For PHP code, you can use <?php ... ?>, which will also color it based on syntax.
Web page addresses and email addresses turn into links automatically, unless the parent tag has the 'nolink' class.
Lines and paragraphs break automatically.
