You're right: Eventually I will master even Drupal 8. But when? I build websites to earn some money. I invent hardware and optics and do a lot of things to make ends meet and every week or month I struggle with beautiful coding abstractions leaves dents in my bank account. I simply can't afford a new "learning cliff" which Drupal 8 seems to pose. It even seems to be not a cliff but something like a jump into the orbit. If you are working in a team and you have the opportunity to learn from each other, it could be even fun to learn Drupal 8. If you struggle to keep yourself off the dole it is a different situation. I will definitely left behind for I simply can't afford to spend months to learn a new concept.
